The Story Behind the Arctic Wolf Collection

My approach to photographing Arctic wolves is grounded in patience and respect rather than pursuit. Their presence is defined by awareness, restraint, and survival within unforgiving environments. To photograph this pack, I traveled deep into Nunavut, flying from New York through Iqaluit and Resolute Bay before reaching Grise Fiord — one of the northernmost communities on Earth. My guide Raymond and I rode snowmobiles for eight hours across open ice to reach wolf territory, where temperatures dropped to -50°F with constant 25-30 mph winds. Six days passed with nothing to show for it before the pack finally appeared on our final day, walking to within twenty feet of us. Through this work, I aim to translate that quiet power into fine art, offering collectors imagery that reflects confidence, resilience, and composure within their interiors.
