LION-TAILED MACAQUE PRINT | MOTHERHOOD

I was observing this little one for a while. He grabbed food from his mother’s mouth; he didn’t allow her to eat. He kept snatching the fig out of her mouth and eating it himself. The mother on the other hand so willingly gave it to him. Then he jumped on her back and started to tug on her head causing her discomfort, but she gently stopped him. When a large male came close to her, she pushed the little one behind her back facing the aggression of the large male herself. 

I remembered the days I was a child, my mother was the same. I was very demanding of her but giving her very little in return. But no matter what I demanded, my mother did all she could to meet my demands making me a priority over her. 

This Mother and Son taught me a lesson I wish I had learned a long time ago. A Mother wants nothing for all the hard work she puts into her child. 

I wish I had told my mother more often how much I appreciated all her efforts.

HOW CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTS MONKEYS

Monkeys are primate animals. They mostly depend on leaves and also fruits for sustenance. The CLIMATE CHANGE which leads to El Nino and La Nina events are affecting these primates more because it decides the availability of this sustenance. These events lead to flooding, severe drought, and also storms. This leads to scarcity of food and also water. This, in turn, is a pathway of new diseases that would affect the monkeys.

Even the food that is available has fewer fiber leaves,  meaning the monkey does not get its needed strength. Female Monkeys end up malnourished and also give birth to smaller offspring with less birth rate. These factors contribute to a decrease in population.
